Reading passage — قطعة القراءة

A community centre invited teenagers to join a weekend creative workshop. Some students selected painting, others chose music or drama, and a small group planned a short story. At first, Hala was reluctant to attend because she thought artistic activities were only for exceptionally talented people. The teacher explained that the workshop was about exploration and practice, not selecting a winner.

Hala joined the storytelling group. Its members disagreed about how their main character should solve a problem. Instead of ending the discussion, they compared ideas and tried several endings. One version was confusing, so they rewrote it after listening to another student's feedback. The experience required patience, imagination and careful communication. By the end of the afternoon, Hala felt proud of something the group had created together.

The following week, the students performed their story for younger visitors. They discovered that some children understood the message differently from what the writers expected. This made the students think more deeply about their audience. Hala realised that creative leisure offered more than entertainment. It could help people express emotions, cooperate, accept mistakes and discover abilities they had not previously considered.
