Reading passage — قطعة القراءة
Three classmates had kept in touch through a group chat since they entered secondary school. They shared homework reminders and funny pictures, but their messages sometimes caused misunderstandings. One evening, Omar received a short reply from his friend Adam and assumed that Adam was angry. He nearly sent a sarcastic answer before deciding to ask what was wrong.
Adam explained that he had been helping his younger brother prepare for an appointment and had written quickly. Omar apologised for jumping to conclusions, and they agreed to speak directly when a message seemed unclear. At school, their friend Farah suggested organising a weekend project to collect books for the community centre. The group met in person to divide tasks, set deadlines and check that everyone was comfortable with the plan.
The project brought the friends closer because they worked together rather than relying only on short messages. They still used the chat to share updates, but they learned to avoid interpreting silence as rejection. Omar came to see that a healthy friendship depends on trust, patience and honest communication. Technology helped them stay connected, while kindness helped them understand one another.
